The biogas plant has been built in 2007 with an electrical capacity of 3 x 716 kW and a thermal output of 3 x 680 KW. This capacity covers the power and heat supply of the vicinal building serving indoor cross-country ski possibilities.

In 2009 the dry fermentation plant was retrofitted with three separators. The input materials are produced by the agriculture of about 12 farms from the immediate vicinity.

The materials used in the biogas plant mainly are corn and green rye. The biogas plant has its own silo, in which the input materials for the whole year can be stored. The separated digestate again is placed at the farmers diposal as economical fertilizer.
